Funtastic February & A Linky Party

Hello Tuesday and goodbye Monday! Before I start my classroom ramblings, I want to invite you to join my first link party for Word Work Wednesday. I am so excited to finally be brining the party to you! I would love to see everyone’s ideas and activities in the classroom to foster student’s independence in fluency, vocabulary or phonics. This week post will be all about spelling and those pesky rules. Link up and join the fun. Grab the bottom below (just right click and do a save as) to link up this Wednesday!
On other news, I am always so cheerful for Tuesday. Tuesday is a day where I get back in that school mode and where ideas and inspiration spring of my head more than ever. I first wanted to state that I love this 4-day week. Thank god, for professional development day on Friday. I really need this day to once again reflect on my teaching practices and goals for the classroom.
Now, with FCAT on the horizon, time is of the essence. I am confident that my students will do great and be up to part with all their reading skills. We have worked all year long hard on tackling those reading strategies and skills for them to feel confident the day of the test. I have seen much improvement overall, especially with those tricky questions and their stamina to keep on reading. I definitely have seen an increased in the amount of time they are reading independently in class and at home. I know this would really shine through in those pesky scores that everyone at time is reluctant to see.
For today’s post I decided to join Teresa on her first linky party ! I am so excited for her and her blog, did I mention she’s from the Sunshine State too!  For her Fantastic February Linky Party I want to contribute the following three things:
A Fabulous February Feature
Of course, I need to mention my dollar steals for the month of February. I have being snooping around lately at my favorite store the Dollar Tree and have found some fantastic things.

I wanted to highlight one particular item the heart boxes.
Valentine's Boxes- I love how these boxes coordinated with the month of February. One of the many uses I have for this directly affects my writing center. I called these Holiday Word Boxes. For the month of February, I will be naming this box Lovely Words. These boxes bring hours of fun to my kids and is a great way for them to practice their spelling skills and writing skills all the same times. More on these holiday boxes very soon. I am currently in the making of one. I will post pictures of it on next week’s Monday post.
A Fantastic February Freebie
This is an oldie but , I love it. I am in the process of printing them again to post in the classroom. The sign orginally are to big for the space I have. So, I printed them smaller and waiting to laminate them. Grab this freebie over at my TPT store. While you are there look around, snag other FREEBIES and become a follower!

A Funny
Ooh, this one got me! I need to come back to this one. My life is apparently not that funny (booo!)
Want to join in the fun? Link up with Teresa over at Fun In K/1!

Happy Teaching,
